My 1st Author Meet – LUCY HAWKING

The day I met Lucy Hawking was one of the greatest days of my life!!! I had the lucky chance of reading her books even before I met her!!! I asked how it was to write books with her father. She said that it was amazing. Her father had a disease so he could not speak and so he got a mechanical voice. I spent 10 minutes with her. Sapna ma'am, Shivani ma'am, and some other teachers were there. I was in the conference room in the senior side of my school (The Shri Ram School). She invited me to Cambridge University. Her father is the famous Stephen Hawking who works over there. I am very excited to go there and learn many new things!!! I felt very very happy!!!


I went to Bookaroo festival to meet her again. When the show was over then all my books – George’s Secret Key to the Universe, George’s Cosmic Treasure hunt, George and the Big Bang and George and the Unbreakable Code were signed by her. I felt very thrilled to meet her again. Her presentation began with looking at some stars or I think it was some galaxy. She talked about science and cosmic stuff and showed us videos. She told us about NASA.  In the video there was a person called Richard who is an astronaut.  He told us about a magic carpet experiment. In space there was no gravity so basically he just took a towel and floated on it and said it was a magic carpet and if we came on space we could float like it. After half an hour the presentation finished and I got my books signed, which I mentioned before. I had to wait a long time to get my books signed. I bought 2 new books and I was very excited when I reached home.

So, first of all, technology is a great achievement of mankind but is also destroying our Earth and home. Pros- Tech industries make our lives easier every day by making things that change the world. They also have social advantages. We can search the web for things you do not understand. Technology is useful for ordering groceries and books, etc. Gaming helps pass time. We do not need to do things ourselves. We can have lots of fun. It is easier to do school projects. E-Mailing a resume takes lesser time than mailing one. Without technology we would be super bored.
